Survivor: Season 18 Premiere

It’s that time again for another exciting season of Survivor. I’m going to try to do a weekly commentary of what i thought of that particular episode. One reason i still watch it is becuase i’m always impressed on what new tricks Mark Burnett (Creator of Survivor) pulls out of his hat. There’s always some new and different with each season. Just as i think i know what is going to happen, boom, something new happens. For example: this evening one person from each tribe were voted out by their team members within the first two minutes. However, they were still in the game, but did not have to make the long journey to the camp with the rest of the tribe. Instead, they were taken to their respective tribes by helicopter. There was something else, but that will be in next week’s post due to some people may not have seen the episode yet, or even realize that Survivor is back. 39 Days, 16 people, 1 Survivor!

Winter Jam 2009

Posted by sbrammer | Current Events | Tuesday 27 January 2009 12:05 pm

This past Sunday night, i went to St. Louis, and made up with a couple of friends to go see seven bands, one comedian, one stage. Price for admission: $10 at the door. Winter Jam 2009 came back to STL for another great night of music, fun, and worship. Doors opened @ 5pm, and we showed up around 3pm. A few minutes before they opened the doors, it started to hail on us, but not too bad. Had decent seats down on the floor propably 1/4 way back from the stage or so.  I was use to the music, but not use to the SCREAMMING HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS sitting behind us!

It was located at the Family Arena, in St. Charles with a capacity crowd of 10k. The last time it went was in 2007 and both times was awesome. Groups this year included: TobyMac, The Afters, Hawk Nelson, and Francesca Battistelli. The pre-jam party groups were Stephanie Smith and PureNRG. Also there was comedian Tony Nolan, and the event was hosted by New Song.

So, if you ever get the chance to go, i would highly recommend it!

Tornado Watch – In December????

Posted by sbrammer | Misc | Monday 29 December 2008 12:27 am

I woke up yesterday morning (Sat) and it was raining, the sky was very dark, and the TV said tornado watch for the area until this afternoon.

Very strange for Decmember. I’ve never seen a tornado watch\warning for our area in DECEMBER!!!!!!!!

It was 64 degrees Saturday morning, but if you look at the weather map, there was a cold front directly behind this with snow and ice, so later that afternoon towards evening it turned cold and was in teen’s and twenty’s for the temperature.

So we went from spring to winter in one day.
